Madeira’s Contona 30-weight thread is 100% pure Egyptian cotton that has been double mercerized to provide the most beautiful matte finish and softness. Cotona No. 30 is ideal for both embroidery and quilting projects, whether you’re doing applique, machine embroidery, or decorative topstitching. Quilters prefer Madeira Cotona thread because of the strong tensile strength crucial for machine quilting and piecing. This thread is strong enough for long-arm quilters and performs very well for couching, tassels, and fringe.
There are dozens of beautiful colors to choose from, and each spool contains 220 yards of all-natural thread. Madeira chose a traditional spool shape for their threads, which eliminates the drop-off and tangling problems that other thread brands struggle with.
